After much birth pangs, our new MMA president was installed at the 49th AGM at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre on Friday, 29/5/2009, with the pomp of bagpipes. A precious moment indeed in the history of MMA and for David Quek himself, after what he went through in order to sit on the hot chair. A new era for MMA, with a past editor of Berita MMA, also a blogger as president! Exciting times indeed, we can hope for better communication. David as a cardiologist is much needed to breathe new life into MMA, with the help of resuscitative attempts by our President Elect, an anesthetist as well as specialist in pain control. Mary Cardosa shall be our first lady president in two years time. We also have a no nonsense chest physician, Dr Hooi Lai Ngoh, holding tight the purse strings, a great team indeed. I wish David the much needed godly wisdom to carry out his manifesto to lead MMA, and Mary too. Not forgetting Dr Hooi, the treasurer, of course.
